                                                “The Servant Leader”, James Autry, Des Moines, Iowa

Mr. Autry is an author, poet, and consultant, whose work has had significant influence on leadership thinking and a vital force in promotion of the arts. Before taking early retirement in 1991 to pursue his present career, Autry was Senior Vice President of The Meredith Corporation and President of its Magazine Group.  At the time of his retirement, Autry was regarded as one of the most successful and respected magazine publishing executives in America.  In 1989, he was named Magazine Executive of the Year by the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass CommunicationsAutry lives in Des Moines with his wife, Sally Pederson, the former Lieutenant Governor of Iowa, and their 22-year-old son Ronald.
